Hi! I’m Coach Veronica McCombs, a personal trainer, accountability coach, and mother of three young children. I'm also the owner of Badass Mom Fitness for women in Murrieta, Temecula, and surrounding areas.

When I'm not chasing my little monkeys around, I'm helping women lose fat, tone up, and look and feel their best.
Looking at me, most people would never guess that I'd been overweight almost my entire life.

Like many families, mine was hit with tragedy when I was young.

Food became my escape. At 6 years old I ballooned up.

My family nicknamed me Chonchis, slang for “chubby girl” in Spanish.

They used it as a term of endearment, but that didn’t change the fact that I was the little chubby girl.

Chonchis became my identity

I spent the following years wishing I was someone else. Wishing I lived in someone else’s body. That I looked different.
At 13 I wanted to play soccer because running a lot is supposed to help you lose weight.

Soccer and depriving myself of food will have me looking like Britney Spears in no time, I thought.

But that didn't happen. 🙁

I concealed my body with black baggy with clothes, avoided pool parties at all costs, and HATED what I saw in the mirror.

Seriously, I'd look in the mirror and get sooo depressed.

And when I had children in my early 20s, it only got worse. And so did my self-image.

I wanted so badly to do something about it, especially so I could be a better example for my children.

But I didn't have the time or energy to work out like 22-year-old Trainer Dude at the gym wanted me to.

Nor was I able to kill myself 4-5 days a week like Bootcamp Bro and his wife Bootcamp Babe wanted me to with their "6-week challenge."

I couldn't stick with the crazy strict diet either. Just trying to was living hell.
